There are no more average women.

I refuse to accept anything else.

There are no more average women in the world. Not any more. There never was, really. But now, more than any other time in history, we’re making tangible strides. Visible to others. Everyone is listening.

And we need to make sure that we don’t fall foot first into that sharp bear trap:
{{ Complacency }}

It’s too easy. We’re better than that.

We are all too strong, smart, and emotionally intelligent to let gendered stereotypes define our generation. Despite that older generations are still with us, carrying on their beliefs from eras ago (and sometimes shouting them from political stumps), we don’t need to comply.

Now, to clarify, anyone should do whatever the hell they want. Breaking the mold is not an act to be done because “you have to.” Where’s the fun in that? If you want to be a homemaker…or even a stripper…go, and get after it. I support you fully.  Do it in reverse, channeling Cardi B, for all I care. Whatever makes you happy.

BUT THIS IS FOR THE WOMEN IN THE CHEAP SEATS TRYING TO GET TO THE FRONT ROW THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

As a collective, we may have the opportunity for successful careers nowadays, and better (yet not equal) pay, but there’s so much more to gain. We’ve been crawling out from the shadows of being taught to accept our place in society. But now. Oh wow. It’s never going to be the same.

WOMEN WILL CHANGE THE WORLD.

So let’s back up a bit. (Screeeeech).

I want to delve into the root of why woman are so damn badass.

I believe strongly in the thought process behind feminine and masculine energy – everyone has both, some use one more than the other. It all comes down to which energy you harness that makes you feel best. Makes you feel like yourself.

For me this is a delicate balance.

Like many independent women, I leverage my masculine energy to get shit done. Work. Business. Negotiations with my landlord. But, personally, I don’t always feel good in this energy. I get a weird testosterone-y adrenaline and sometimes break into a stress sweat. (nobody else?)

My feminine energy is reserved for my more playful moments, romantic dates, and girl time (getting ready for a night out, sipping French 75s, or maybe getting manicures). This side of me makes me feel like a magical wizard in an ethereal fairyland – everything I touch turns to glitter and awesomeness and rock and roll and EDM all at the same time. Ha.

But I’ve had an epiphany.

Let’s use our femininity to punch a hole in the way things are now.

(Okay, let me tone that down from my masculine side…)

Let’s use it to change society, creating a new dynamic in the way things work.

What was once thought of as our “softer side” shouldn’t have to be swept under the rug in order to effect change. Our feminine-ness is our greatest power.

We are not meek. We can be considerate when others have ideas and want to hear everything. Our empathy. Our diplomacy. Our strength. It’s going to move mountains. (or at least fight to keep them preserved in our national parks)

What makes women such amazing caretakers is that we are able to take care of ourselves AND others.

What better trait for our future world leaders, activists, and CEOs?

It would be multi-tasking to the Nth degree. Taking care of number 1…and the humans of the planet…at the same time.

We’ve got this in the bag.

Ladies of the world, I have so much in store.

I’m absolutely “living” for what I’m preaching here. And that’s not cockiness. That’s confidence.

I want to help women realize they can no longer be ignorant to universe-shaking issues. They should not feel compelled to hide behind the opinions of their family or spouse or friend group. They are enough. Enough to make waves in the world as we know it.

For many women, this requires pushing themselves out of their comfort zones. Overcoming abuse. Finding their voice. Being resilient. PERSISTING.

I know it because I’ve done it. And now I know what to do with it.

More to come. So, so much more to come.

Stay tuned.

xo, Rose Up
